Matt has been with Bixler Insurance, Inc since 1991 and became a partner in 1995. He specializes in commercial insurance ranging from main street merchants, to large manufacturing. He also works closely with small and large agribusiness exposures, as well as all aspects of personal lines insurance. He received his Certified Insurance Counselor certification in 1995. Matt also currently serves in the Indiana House of Representatives and currently chairs the House Insurance Committee. He is a proud father of three daughters, Kara, Kristen, and Kelli, and lives in Berne with his wife, Joye.

Dustin has been with Bixler Insurance since April 2013 and became a partner in January 2015. He does a little bit of everything at Bixler Insurance Inc. but specializes in helping you with personal, commercial, agribusiness, and life insurance. Dustin is a native of Berne and a 2011 graduate of Ball State University with degrees in Finance and Insurance. Before joining Bixler Insurance, he gained valuable experience in the insurance industry when working as a Personal and Commercial Underwriter at Auto Owners Insurance Company in Marion, IN. Dustin received his Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 2015, which demonstrates his in-depth knowledge of the entire insurance industry. He and his wife, Kristi, live in Berne, where they are actively involved in the community.

Doug has been with Bixler Insurance, Inc since May of 2006 and in the insurance industry for over 20 years before becoming a partner in July 2008. He specializes in commercial insurance, ranging from small business owners to large manufacturing. He also specializes in all aspects of personal insurance. Doug is the managing partner of the Decatur location. He lives in Decatur with his wife Theresa and son Derek.

Steve began his insurance career in 1979. He joined Bixler Insurance May of 1992. He is a multi-line agent,writing farm, crop, home, auto, commercial, life and group health for his clients. Steve and his wife Sheryl live on a small farm west of Portland. They have two grown children, Kyle and Kym, and three grandchildren, Ava, Ella, and Eli. Steve is proud to announce that his son, Kyle, has joined Bixler Insurance in Portland.

Amy is our personal lines specialist and has been in the insurance industry since 1990. She can help you with all your personal lines needs including: homeowners, auto, recreational vehicle, and personal excess liability insurance. With access to multiple insurance companies, she will research to find the best combination of price, coverage, and service for you and your family. Amy lives in Berne with her husband, Brent. They have five children, Amber, Drew, Natalie, Taylor, and Zach, and three grandchildren.

Derick is a graduate of Indiana University. He started with Bixler Insurance, Inc. in 2021 and will specialize in the many offerings of senior health insurance benefits and Life and Health insurance for all ages. He comes with over 20 years of Healthcare Operations experience and will be helpful in discussing and helping to understand your options in many different life scenarios. He, his wife Lori, and two of their four children live in Berne and are active in the local community.
Terry Powers

Terry has been associated with Bixler Insurance Inc. since 2001. Terry specializes in life Insurance needs for you and your family, and also business life insurance needs. On the business side, Terry can do buy-sell, key person, and non-qualified deferred compensation. He brings over 25 years of experience to our customers. Terry served as president and membership chairperson for the ECIALU (East-Central Association of Life Underwriters). He was honored in San Antonio, TX, for his outstanding growth for life underwriters. Terry attended Ball State University and is married with 2 children, Tamra and Jason, and three grandchildren.

He has been an Adams County resident his entire life and is a 2013 graduate of Adams Central. He gained valuable experience in the insurance industry working for State Farm in Decatur, IN. He and his wife Alyssa live in rural Adams County and are expecting their first child in April 2024.
